Endurance - The Film

"In a vision out of a Coleridge poem or an opium dream, the wooden ship stands erect, caught fast in a world of whiteness, a thing out of place and now out of time."

From the review of the film:

"Ernest Shackleton had a penchant for being in the wrong place at the wrong time."

Sounds like a lead-in to a Richard Pryor movie. Wacky! That darn Shackleton-what'll he do next?

Actually, there is one. It's by Caroline Alexander and it served as the exhibition catalog for a showing of Endurance artifacts at the Museum of Natural History in New York. Imagine watching your ship get squeezed by the ice into toothpicks.
